A regularly updated lists of restaurants that are still open for service and/or delivery

Following the announcement from the PM on Friday March 20th that all restaurants, bars, pubs and cafes must close, this ongoing list had to change dramatically.

We are now NOT UPDATING IT FOR THE TIME BEING.

As of Friday 20th March these restaurants were still delivering. Please check individual venues for now.

Many restaurants are also selling vouchers which can be purchased now (to help them to pay their overheads in the current crisis) and used for a future visit. Please support them this way if you can.

If you have downloaded the Confidentials app, you will also be able to access offers to purchase now and redeem at a later date.

In the meantime please wash your hands and look after each other.

I am the worst person at making decisions. It’s sort of why we don’t have a menu. So this is a big one. Where the Light Gets In will close as a restaurant from today until further notice. But for sanities sake let’s keep busy. Suppliers need to keep supplying. Cooks need to keep cooking and diners need to keep dining. We will open our doors as a takeaway service. As ‘The Pickle Factory’ good eh? We came up with it because of all the fermenting we do and we thought it was catchy. And because this kind of food is good for your body which is clearly of importance right now. We’re cookin up a friggin storm and we have a plan. Menus and many more details will follow. We’re so sad not to be able to invite our guests into our wonderful home but we’re gonna be with you through this and express ourselves the best way we know how. We will be in touch with those who have booked for the next two weeks and we ask all of our other expected guests to please reschedule for when the good times roll. Until then. In the words of Al Green. ‘Let’s stay together’

A restaurant isn’t really a restaurant unless it’s full of people. The whole point of restaurants is to bring people together over a shared love of food, wine and good times. In these current, particularly bad times, we simply cannot risk continuing to share our space. So, after a weekend spent sweating over spreadsheets, PHE guidelines, and a load of other stuff, here is where we are at. Aaargh. Short version: 1. We are closed to the public as a restaurant from today, until further notice. 2. From Wednesday, 18th March, we will be providing a collection/ delivery service of usual menu items, plus sourdough bread, cheese, WINE, and home cooked meals, once we work out what is logistically best, and safest. 3. Information on how to order and pay, and the procedures for collection and delivery will be posted in the next 48 hours. 4. If you have a booking with us in the next few weeks, we will be in touch in the next 48 hours to let you know where you stand. 5. Please consider supporting us by buying a voucher online 6. This is really, really shitty for a lot of people. If you are worried about how you will survive the next few months, let’s share resources and ideas, and help each other through. Please get in touch if you are desperately worried. We're here. Really long version: With the Covid 19 pandemic developing the way it is, and with the layout of our particular restaurant being what it is with the sharing tables and an open kitchen, I no longer feel that we can work in a way that will keep both staff and customers safe. We need to do our bit to help slow the rate of infection so that our hospitals are best placed to cope with Coronavirus sufferers needing urgent care, or indeed anyone else who needs to be in hospital over the next few months. I now feel that we have no option but to close to the public, as of today, until further notice. This decision takes care of one of my obligations as a business owner. I have many other obligations, however, to my staff who depend on me for an income; to my suppliers, all of whom are also small business with tight margins who rely on our business; and to my own family...ctd below
