Now the gaúcho traditions of South America can come to you

Fans of a good Brazilian rodizio restaurant will be aware of what a gut-busting all you can eat experience it can be. First there’s an extensive salad bar featuring all manner of hot and cold vegetables, side dishes and garnishes to line your stomach (although self-serve salad bars were replaced by QR codes and table service by Fazenda back in July.)

Then there’s a stream of waiters brandishing a never-ending parade of sizzling roast meats, poultry and offal. All you need to do is turn over your double-sided coaster to signal Sim! Por Favor/green or Não! Obrigado/red until your top button bursts.

Known for carving the finest cuts of South American meat right at your table, city-centre favourite Fazenda has launched a brand-new concept, bringing its famous fillets and perfect Picanha to front doors across the UK.

With guests unable to visit Fazenda’s Spinningfields restaurant due to current government restrictions, the enterprising team has worked out a way to recreate the experience by launching a new online shop.

“Fazenda at Home is a dream that has been in progress for years, and we are truly delighted to have been able to make it a reality," said Tomás Maunier, co-founder of Fazenda. "We have more ideas and dreams, but with the announcement of a second lockdown, we decided to bring our plans forward for those who are missing our restaurants."

Choose from 45 individually priced cuts sourced from three continents

You’ll find all the cuts from the usual menu plus a whole host of specialities handpicked from independent farmers across the UK and overseas. In addition to the signature cap of rump, fillet and sirloin, executive chef Fran Martinez has sourced grass-fed Hereford Tomahawk steaks, Wagyu ribeye imported from world-renowned Finca Santa Rosalia in Spain, French-trimmed Agnei Ibérico lamb racks and more, so you can create your own tailor made dining experience of no less than 45 individually priced cuts sourced from three continents.

You’ll also discover a handful of other Fazenda favourites, such as the famous cheese bread (pão de queijo), a range of charcuterie and classic chimichurri sauce. And because you’re going to need something to wash it down with, the shop will also offer Fazenda’s exclusive Malbec – Catena with a selection of other wines to be will be added ASAP. Each item on the new menu is listed with information about sourcing, storage and delivery, with products arriving in eco-friendly, sustainable packaging.

Fazenda Spinningfields
Although Fazenda's gorgeous Spinningfields restaurant is currently closed, you can now get the South American experience delivered to your home

If all that seems a little tricky to narrow down, the Fazenda team have also been working on the soon to be launched Fazenda at Home box, consisting of a selection of five starters, three prime meats, a side dish and sweet South American mini-churros and dulce de leche alfajores to finish the experience.

But not everyone has a wood fired barbecue at home (we wish.) So how do we achieve the authentic gaucho flavour in our own kitchen? Not to worry, every order will also include a QR code that takes you to the Fazenda at Home recipe section showing some step-by-step guides to cooking meat perfectly. It will also show you how to create your own sauces and ideas for additional side dishes.

“Sharing quality food together with those we love, sharing moments and creating memories together is what this is all about for us," adds Maunier, "and it's in the core of what we are trying to achieve with Fazenda at Home as well.”

Fazenda at Home is available now for UK-wide delivery with more wine, new menu items and a festive box all due to be added to the shop over the coming weeks. To begin picking your favourites for your Fazenda at Home experience, click here.
